The acronym for ‘designing and implementing recordkeeping systems’, a methodology for managing records and other business information that is outlined in the Australian Standard for Records Management (Standards Australia AS ISO 15489, Part 1, Section 8.4) and elaborated in the 2001 NAA publication, DIRKS: A Strategic Approach to Managing Business Information.
