High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (高エãƒãƒ«ã‚®ãƒ¼åŠ é€Ÿå™¨ç ”ç©¶æ©Ÿæ§‹ KÅ EnerugÄ« Kasokuki KenkyÅ« KikÅ), commonly known as KEK, is the high-energy physics research organization in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The two major accelerators are the 12 Ge V Proton Synchrotron (scheduled for decommissioning in 2005 or 2006) and the KEKB electron-positron collider where the Belle experiment is currently running. J-PARC proton accelerator is under construction in Tokaimura.
