The butter colored, kidney shaped seed of the legume "Phaseolus lunatus" and "P. limensis", grown worldwide in warm climates. May be eaten like broad beans in the country of cultivation but usually ripened and dried for export. Must be boiled for 15 minutes to destroy protease inhibitors.
