Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. a condition characterized by a few immature cells among mostly mature cells; the abnormal cells extend through one third the thickness of the cervical skin
Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. Mildly abnormal cells, also called CIN-1, diagnosed through a colposcopy and sometimes a biopsy. About 1-3 percent of Paps are described by the lab as falling into this category. Women older than 35 may have a false LSIL reading due to declining estrogen levels or other effects of the aging process.
Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. Mildly abnormal cells, also called CIN 1, diagnosed using a colposcopy and sometimes a biopsy. In most cases, these types of abnormal cervical cells go away on their own without treatment.
