A device installed into computer to read storage devices called memory cards witch can be used to store photographs or music. (Sony Memory Stick) (Panasonic SD card)
A device that reads data encoded in the magnetic strip of a smart card.
A device that is used for inserting flash memory cards into in order to transfer the data from the card to the computer.
A device which can read a magnetic code on a small card (like a credit card). If the code is correct then a signal is initiated. Such devices are commonly used for door access systems where only a certain code allows access tot he door.
A machine that reads punched cards into a computer.
This refers to the device that reads the data from the SIM cards. There is one within each of the GSM/PCN hand-portable phones, and in most mobile transceivers (referred to as the internal card reader).
A device that reads removable memory cards such as Secure Digital, Smart Media, CF, and Memory Sticks. Usually connects to PC using an USB port.
noun: a device used to transfer data from a storage media to a computer
A device for transferring pictures from a memory card into a computer.
a device for reading your camera's memory card
a device that can read magnetic information associated with a card
a device that connects to a computer usually via the USB port and has a slot or slots to accept flash memory cards
a device that reads data on a flash card
a device, typically having a USB interface, for accessing the data on a memory card such as a CompactFlash , secure digital or Multimedia Card
a great way to read multiple types of digital cameras
a high-performance, compact and lightweight device
a small device that allows you to quickly transfer memory cards to your PC - without the camera
a small device that plugs into a computer and can be used to read credit card information when you have a physical credit card at the time of the transaction
a small external or internal device that accepts your memory card
Enables high speed transfer of datas from a flash memory to the computer without draining batteries.
A device that reads and transmits information stored in the magnetic stripe on a card.
a physical device that interacts with an access control card.
a small USB device that reads image files into the computer
A device that reads the information on a card key. Card readers may obtain data from access cards by reading punched holes, magnetic spots, stripes or wires, or any of several other methods that use punched, embossed, or embedded information. The reader may be an integral part of the lock, or it can be located in the immediate vicinity. Card readers fall in one of two categories, on-line or intelligent. On-line readers must communicate with a central processor that makes the entry/exit decision and transmits a signal back to the locking device. The intelligent card reader compares the data on the card with preprogrammed parameters and entry or exit is granted or denied by the card reader itself at the reader location. Intelligent readers are also called stand-alone or off-line readers.
A device that is capable of reading the encoding on plastic cards.
Input device on a card terminal that reads the information stored on the magnetic stripe. May also be referred to as a magnetic stripe reader.
A device that you insert flash memory cards into to transfer the data to the computer. Much faster than the serial port! See also "PCMCIA" and "PC Card"
Someone who practices card reading (see above).
A device capable of reading the encoding on plastic cards. See Magnetic Stripe Reader.
A device that allows your computer to directly read flash memory cards.
Unit fitted by the controlled door that reads the access card and transfers the information to the access control system. Close Glossary Window
A device on a photocopier that reads a cards barcode, enables the service and deducts credit as the card is used.
An electronic mechanism that converts information recorded on a credit card's magnetic stripe into data understood by a microprocessor.
A card reader is a device designed to transfer images from a memory card to a computer. You can get ones that accept Compact Flash cards, or Smart Media cards, or both.
A hardware device that facilitates the reading and transmission of payment information stored in the magnetic stripe on a credit, debit or stored-value card. Also known as a "Magnetic Stripe Reader."
Any device that is capable of reading encoding on plastic cards. See Magnetic Stripe Reader
Equipment that can electronically read the information from one or many types of cards.
A card reader has a slot for the memory card on which the pictures in a digital camera are stored and quickly transfers the pictures to your computer. This is preferable to using the connecting cable that plugs into your computer because the speed at which the cable transfers pictures from the camera to your computer can be slow.
A mechanical device constructed to electrically contact smart cards enabling it to read/write data.
A memory card reader is a device used for communication with a smart card or a flash memory card. A business card reader is a scanning device used to scan and electronically save business cards. A magnetic card reader is a device used to scan cards containing magnetic data strips.
