Definitions for "Chrome green"
Chromium was discovered by Louis-Nicholas Vauquelin in 1797. Chromium oxide and hydrated chromium oxide were both introduced in the first half of the 19th century. Chrome oxide is a dull opaque olive green and hydrated chromium oxide is an intense, transparent bluish-green. Chrome green has excellent covering power and is inexpensive to produce. It is not light fast and has a tendency to turn blue in strong light.
