Late vintage

Fruity sweet style of white wine. Pronounced 'shpart-laser'.

one of the levels of ripeness of fine German wines. Harvested later than kabinett wines, they are usually but not always somewhat sweeter as a result. I find they go fantastically with the cheese course (unless it involves hard cheeses), which is when I usually serve them.
