Also known as a "Carib ax", a THUNDERBOLT is a dark green, almost black, nodular stone shaped like a "celt" that is found, according to Bahamian natives, at the base of dead trees once struck by lightning. THUNDERBOLTS may be the rare petrified products of when lightning "electromagnetically precipitates" manganese salts within certain trees at the speed of light.
A thunderbolt is a traditional expression for a discharge of lightning or a symbolic representation thereof. As a divine manifestation it has been a powerful symbol throughout history, and has appeared in many mythologies. Drawing from this powerful association, the thunderbolt is often found in military symbolism and semiotic representations of electricity.
