USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) was the lead ship of her class of United States Navy "super-dreadnought" battleships. She was the third Navy ship named for the state of Pennsylvania.
The second USS Pennsylvania (ACR-4), also referred to "Armored Cruiser No. 4", and later renamed Pittsburgh and numbered CA-4, was a United States Navy armored cruiser, the lead ship of her class.
The second USS Pennsylvania was a four-decked 120 gun ship of the line of the United States Navy. She was the largest sailing warship ever built for the Navy, and the equivalent of any ship to be found in any other navy of the time, but her only cruise was a single trip from Delaware Bay to Chesapeake Bay.
