A propriety term for a full-colour photographic print made from a transparency.
Color photographic print produced from a color transparency.
A photographic process for making colour prints from colour slides or transparencies. It produces a high-quality, direct, positive photograph using a silver dye-bleach process. Cibachromes were produced with gloss or pearl finishes; gloss cibachromes have a longer life expectancy. The name was changed to Ilfochrome in 1992.
A colour print made from a photographic transparency
a photographic reproduction which is of very high quality
A process where a photographic print can be made directly from a color transparency.
A photo reproduction used as an embedment. It can be done on opaque white material or a clear transparency from a good quality picture or an electronic file.
A process used to make color prints directly from transparencies.
A modern printing process in which the print is made directly from a color transparency; now called Ilfochrome, it is known for its good stability, richness in color and surface brilliance. This is the dye-bleach process where all colors are inherent within the print materials and unwanted colors are bleached, out forming a more stable form of color employing azo dyes.
A process by which a photographic print is made directly from a color transparency. Noted for rich color, brilliant clarity and unprecedented archival quality for color prints. Also called Ilfochrome.
A color photograph based on the silver dye-bleach system. The necessary colors (azo dyes) are built into the emulsion layers. These colors are bleached out where not needed during developing. Azo dyes produce more brilliant colors and have greater stability and resistance to light than any other current process. Ilford has renamed its process Ilfochrome.
A positive print process known for its sharpness, rich color saturation, and permanence. Unless interpositives are made, these prints are made from slides and transparencies, never from color negatives.
color printing process that produces color prints directly from color slides.
Cibachrome refers to both the trademarked photographic paper Cibachrome and the process of making prints with such paper. Cibachrome is a positive printing process; the prints are produced from slides or transparencies, not color negatives. Azo dyes embedded in the paper's emulsion are bleached away in proportion to the exposure during paper processing (called “dye-bleach reversal”).
