Definitions for "Class B Shares"
The second tier of classified stock.
A class of mutual fund shares that is offered for sale at net asset value with a contingent deferred sales charge which declines from 5% to zero depending on the length of time the shares are held. Class B shares automatically convert to Class A shares after a period of time after purchase, usually after seven years.
