Definitions for "Financial assets"
Pieces of paper evidencing a claim on some issuer.
As opposed to real assets, these are paper assets (securities) that entitle the holder to some future payments. Examples include bonds and shares.
They are pieces of paper representing an indirect claim to real assets held by someone else. This paper could represent debt or equity shares.
Either cash or shares (equity) or a right to receive a financial instrument, which can be converted to cash (see net Crown debt).
