An HSG is method of taking x-rays while injecting dye through the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. It can reveal blocked or dilated fallopian tubes, fibroids or adhesions within the uterine cavity, or an abnormally shaped uterus. The test is usually performed on days 7 to 10 of the menstrual cycle.
an X-ray examination of the uterus and fallopian tubes
An x-ray procedure in which a special liquid is injected through the cervix into the uterine cavity to illustrate the inner shape of the uterus and degree of openness of the fallopian tubes. If the tubes are open, the liquid will spill out the ends of the tubes. If the tubes are blocked, the liquid is trapped.
X ray of the uterus and Fallopian tubes; usually done in diagnosing infertility (to see if there any blockages)
a commonly used method for determining whether or not an obstruction or blockage exists in the fallopian tubes
an important test that is part of the basic infertility evaluation
an X-ray study done after a liquid X-ray dye is allowed to flow into your uterus through a slender catheter positioned just inside the cervix
an X-ray test that examines the inside of the uterus , the fallopian tubes , and the surrounding area
a test that uses x-rays and a special dye to detect scar tissue, polyps, fibroids, and other growths that may be blocking the tubes or preventing an embryo from implanting properly in the uterus
a type of an X-ray in which the uterus and fallopian tubes are examined
An x-ray study in which a radio-opaque fluid is injected into the uterus so that doctors can see the outline of the inside of the womb and the fallopian tubes.
A proceedure in which dye is instilled into uterus and fallopian tubes. An image is then taken of the area. This allows physicians to see any anatomical abnormalities that may be making concieving more difficult for the female.
A diagnostic x-ray that allows the physician to view the contour or shape of the inside of the uterus along with the patency of the fallopian tubes. HSG is often required during an infertility workup.
Injection of dye into the uterine cavity in order to visualize via X-ray the uterine cavity and Fallopian tubes.
(HSG) A diagnostic test that uses radiopaque dye and an x-rays to provide an outline of the interior of the uterus. HSG is typically performed in a radiology suite with no anesthesia.
A diagnostic procedure used to assess whether the fallopian tubes are blocked or open. A dye is injected into the tubes, this dye can then be picked up on an x-ray and will show whether the tubes are patent (open). to top of page
Often referred to as an HSG, a diagnostic test using x-rays in which radiographic contrast (dye) is inserted into the uterine cavity through the cervix to determine if the fallopian tubes are open or blocked.
An X ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes after they have been filled with dye (contrast medium)
This procedure is where dye is passed into the uterus via the cervix and passed through the fallopian tubes, this can show if the tubes are blocked and can also show any abnormalities with the uterus.
An x-ray study in which dye is injected into the uterus to show the body of the uterus and whether the fallopian tubes are open. Does not require anesthesia, although pain medication will be administered before the exam.
A radiographic diagnostic test which evaluates the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes. This test evaluates the shape of the uterine cavity (can be used to identify a T shaped uterus classic of a DES Daughter), disease processes of the uterine cavity (fibroids, polyps, septum, scar tissue, etc.) and the size, shape and patency of the fallopian tube. This test is also referred to as a HSG.
A procedure used to assess the anatomy of the cavityof the uterus and the fallopian tubes.
A test used to evaluate the health and patency of the uterus and Fallopian tubes. Dye is injected into the uterus and an X-ray is taken. A hysterosalpingogram can locate blockages or tumours which may be treated with surgery or medication.
An x-ray of the pelvic organs in which a dye is injected through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes. This test checks for abnormalities of the uterus and blockage of the fallopian tubes.
An X-ray study in which a contrast dye is injected into the uterus to show the delineation of the body of the uterus and the patency of the fallopian tubes. Also called a tubogram or uterotubogram.
An radiographic procedure in which a special dye is injected into the uterus to illustrate the inner contour of the uterus and degree of openness (patency) of the fallopian tubes.
A test used to evaluate the health of the uterus and Fallopian tubes in which dye is injected into the uterus and an X-ray is taken. A hysterosalpingogram can locate blockages or tumors that may be correctable with surgery or medication.
A scan of pelvic organs through a radiopaque dye injected into the uterus and fallopian tubes. A common procedure in initial pelvic evaluation.
An x-ray procedure during which dye is introduced into the uterus through the cervix and passed through the tubes to determine if they are open. This also shows the configuration of the uterus (any irregularities, fibroids, etc.)
An X-ray of the uterus and womb in which a radio opaque dye is injected through the cervix into the uterus and tubes.
(HSG) A type of x-ray test in which dye is inserted through cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes. The x-ray is examined for any abnormalities, such as blocked fallopian tubes. This test may cause cramping. If abnormalities exist, the cramping may be severe.
An x-ray procedure in which a special media (a dye like solution) is injected through the cervix into the uterine cavity to illustrate the inner shape of the uterus and degree of openness (patency) of the fallopian tubes. l J l l N l l Q l l l X l Y l
A fertility test in which dye is injected into the uterus and fallopian tubes through the cervix. HSG is used to assess whether your fallopian tubes are blocked and that your uterus is healthy. A similar procedure to HSG is the Hysterosalpingosonogram (HSS) that uses ultrasound to assess the uterus and fallopian tubes instead of x-rays.
This is the procedure that evaluates the structure of the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. It is performed in Radiology and X-rays are taken during the course of this procedure.
An x-ray of the fallopian tubes and uterus. Used to diagnose structural abnormalities.
