See Dissociative Identity Disorder
dissociative disorder in which two or more distinct conscious personalities alternately prevail in the same person, without any personality being aware of the other; typically a dubious diagnosis.
A dissociative state in which the integrated personality fragments (usually as a result of extreme trauma) into two or more "personalities," each of which manifests a relatively complete complex of personal attributes and often acts independently and unknown to the other fragments.
