The name of a great Indian chief in what is now the country of Nicaragua. NICO was said to have controlled a vast realm near what is now Lake Nicaragua during the early Spanish Conquest of Latin America. The capital of Nicaragua is named Managua as in the term "water-man" (Aqua = water).
Nico is the third and final album by the band Blind Melon, released in 1996 by Capital Records. The album was released after lead singer Shannon Hoon's death in 1995. The album was named for his daughter, Nico Blue.
