Definitions for "OIN"
As part of the Direct Debit scheme in the UK, an Originator will be issued with an OriginatorĂ¢â‚¬(tm)s Identification Number (OIN). This is unique to the company and is recognised by the scheme and participating banks and building societies. The OIN will always be printed on a Direct Debit Instruction.
The Originator's Identification Number. The unique identification number given to authorised users of the Direct Debit and Direct Credit Services by their sponsoring bank. This also serves as the BACS User Number. This is comparable to the merchant ID for the Credit and Debit Card Service
