Definitions for "Une"
Unbundled Network Element. Specific equipment and facilities that are "unbundled" from traditional end-to-end services (such as residential dial tone service) in order to allow other local exchange carriers to use components of Verizon's network. An example of a network element would be a loop connected not to a Verizon switch, but to a competitor carrier's switch.
See Unbundled Network Element.
A U.S. regulatory term that identifies the parts of the network that U.S. ILECs are required to offer on an unbundled basis to competitors. Together, these parts make up a local loop that connects to a DSLAM or a voice switch (or both). This loop allows non-facilities-based telecommunications providers to deliver service without laying network infrastructure (copper/fibre). In Canada, the CRTC has, to a lesser extent, mandated ILECs to unbundle certain facilities and parts of its network, including the ILECs' local loops.

UNE (畝) is the musical project of Akira Inada. The music is best described as transcendental metal, with an atmospheric, all-encompassing sound, reminiscent of Sigur Rós, while also being (as it has often been put) "heavier than the devil". However, it is very difficult to describe: as Jonah Matranga wrote, it is "beauty beyond words".
