a twisted vein; especially, the accumulation of blood in the veins of the spermatic cord
A varicose vein in the scrotum, which in some cases can increase the temperature of the testis, causing oligospermia; more common on the left side than on the right (because the left testicular vein is longer and more likely to have incompetent valves). One of the few treatable causes of male infertility (the treatment is to tie off the vein), although not all sperm counts improve. There's more on varicocele, underwear design and avoiding saunas in WebPage 10.
A collection of dilated veins around the testicles that hinders sperm function, possibly through increasing the temperature in the scrotum.
An abnormality where varicose veins (dilated veins) lie above one or both testicles; they are present in about 15% of men in the general population, and up to 40% of men attending infertility clinics. It usually causes no discomfort, but can cause infertility in some men. This may be due to an abnormally high temperature within the testicles.
a collection of engorged scrotal veins, usually on the left side, sometimes resulting in male infertility due to increased temperature. Varicoceles occur in 15% of all males and up to 40% of infertile males.
an enlarged vein in the scrotum that can lead to infertility.
dilatation of the veins associated with the spermatic cord in the testes
a bag of veins that sits in the scrotum that often feels like a bag of worms
a bit like an area of varicose veins around the epididymis
a cluster of large, dilated veins that drain blood away from one or both of the testicles
a collection of abnormally swollen (varicose) veins around the testes
a collection of dilated blood vessels that sits above the left testicle
a collection of enlarged, varicose veins that develops in the spermatic cord
a collection of swollen veins in the scrotum
a collection of widened veins, like varicose veins, that occurs on the outside of the testicle
a condition in which the valves within the veins (blood vessels) of the male reproductive system disintegrate
a dilatation of the veins which drain the testes
a dilated (enlarged) group of veins in the scrotum
a dilated vein around the testicle, which raises the core temperature of the testicle and can impair the process of making sperm
a dilated vein or set of veins that can affect the temperature and chemical balance of the testicles (most commonly on the left side)
a dilation of a vein (like a varicose vein) in the scrotum
a dilation of the pampiniform plexus - the veins that drain blood from the testicle
a dilation of the pampiniform venous plexus and the internal spermatic vein
a dilation of the testicular veins in the spermatic cord that leads from the testicles to the abdomen
a dilation of the veins in the scrotum
a dilation or swelling of the veins that drain the testicle
a disorder of the small veins, that run the blood from the testicle back towards the heart
an abnormal dilation of the pampiniform plexus of the internal spermatic vein and is typically identified on the left side
an abnormal dilation of the pampiniform plexus of the testicular veins, which drain the testicle
an abnormal dilation of the veins of the pampiniform plexus due to either incompetent venous valves or pathologic obstruction of the venous outflow
an abnormality of the veins that take blood away from the testicle
an abnormally enlarged and twisted (varicose) vein in the cord that connects to the testicle
an abnormal tortuosity and dilation of veins of
an anatomic abnormality that can affect sperm production
an enlarged, twisted vein ( varicose vein ) in the scrotum,
an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum
an enlargement, or dilation, of the veins that drain the scrotum
an irregularly swollen or varicose vein on the testicle
a palpable or visible dilation of the vessels of the pampiniform plexus in the scrotum
a small flaw in the anatomy of a vein
a swelling or lump that surrounds the testicle in the scrotum
a swollen varicose vein in the scrotum - usually on the left side
a tangled mass of blood vessels in the testicle caused by blood flow problems
a tangled network of blood vessels on the scrotum, and is usually harmless
a tangled network of blood vessels, or varicose veins, in the testicles that is caused by reverse blood flow
a varicose vein around the testicles
a weakening of the wall of the vein, much like varicose veins seen in the legs
Abnormal testicular vascular configuration associated with decreased sperm quality.
abnormal dilation of the veins of the spermatic cord, caused by failure of the valves within the veins.
A collection of enlarged (dilated) veins in the spermatic cord
A cause of male infertility in which varicose veins are present in the blood vessels above the testes
the appearance of varicose veins around the testicles; commonly occurs and is harmless, but may cause discomfort
A varicose (swollen) vein around the vas deferens often on the left hand side.
A dilation of veins that carry blood out of the scrotumwhich leads to elevated scrotal temperature. A major cause of male infertility.
A varicose vein of the testicles, sometimes a cause of male infertility.
Varicose veins in the testicle that can cause sperm abnormalities
A varicose vein in the scrotum that may affect the quality and the production of sperm.
A varicose or dilated vein within the scrotum that can cause infertility in some men.
Varicose (enlarged) veins in the testicle cause varicocele. There is much debate about the relevance of a varicocele on fertility, but a prevailing theory is that the veins increase the temperature in the testicles. This heat weakens sperm and impedes sperm production. Varicocele can be surgically repaired.
one or more incompetent or varicose veins in the scrotum.
A collection of varicose veins in the scrotum that causes blood to flow in an abnormal direction. Elevated scrotal heat affects the quality of the sperm.
A collection of varicose veins in the scrotum. Blood flows in an abnormal direction in these veins towards the testicles.
Varicose veins in the scrotum. The resulting swollen vessels surrounding the testicles create a pool of stagnant blood, which elevates the scrotal temperature. A major cause of male infertility.
Dilated veins in the spermatic cord above or around the testis that can cause decreased sperm production on the affected side.
Varicocele is an abnormal enlargement of the veins in the scrotum draining the testicles. The testicular blood vessels originate in the abdomen and course down through the inguinal canal as part of the spermatic cord on their way to the testis. Up-ward flow of blood in the veins is ensured by small one-way valves that prevent backflow.
