Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which is released from the pituitary gland in the brain, is the hormone primarily responsible for stimulating the development of egg-containing follicles in women and sperm in men. Gonal-f® Multi-Dose (follitropin alfa for injection), a highly pure human FSH manufactured by recombinant human DNA technology, is prescribed to supplement or replace naturally occurring FSH.
