A medication used to replace the pituitary hormones LH and FSH. Similar to Humegon and Pergonal. May be used to induce ovulation in women who do not respond to clomiphene citrate. Most frequently used with women who do not normally produce estrogen because of a pituitary gland or hypothalamic malfunction. May also be used with men to stimulate sperm production.
(menotropins for injection, USP) A preparation of gonadatropins - the natural hormones necessary for human reproduction - carefully extracted from the purified urine of postmenopausal women. It contains equal amounts of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Repronex is usually used together with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
One of several brands of hMG. This medication is used to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple, large follicles.
