Languor is an enervated weakness or weariness of the body or mind. The languid [from the Latin for "weak"] neurasthenic - who cannot bear to experience any of the human passions, and who languishes so attractively, has given a bad name to the indolent idler, who may be perfectly fit and full of energy. (Note that Oscar Wilde's infamous languidness was just a pose.) See: LISTLESS, SLUGGISH, SPLEEN, TIRED, TORPID.
