Definitions for "Pluvial lake"
A lake formed to the south of a continental glacier as a result of enhanced rainfall during an ice age.
A lake that formed from rainwater falling into a landlocked basin during a glacial period marked by greater precipitation than is found in the region in prior or subsequent periods.
A lake that was created under former climatic conditions, at a time when rainfall in the region was more abundant than it is now. Pluvial lakes were common in and regions during the Pleistocene.
