Federal program administered by each state's Medicaid program that helps people with Medicare with low incomes pay their coinsurance, deductibles, and premiums.
Qualified Medicare Beneficiary. DHS pays the Medicare premiums, deductibles, and co-insurance for individuals enrolled in Medicare Part A whose incomes do not exceed 100 percent of the federal poverty level and whose resources do not exceed twice the resource limit of the SSI program.

Qualified Medicare Beneficiary. A Medicare Savings Program that pays for Medicare Part A and Part B premiums, coinsurance and deductibles. To qualify, you must: Be eligible for Medicare Part A and Part B, Have countable income at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (in 2006, $817 per month for individuals, $1,100 for couples), Have assets at or below the limit ($4,000 for individuals, $6,000 for couples), and Meet all other Medi-Cal eligibility requirements. This program does not apply benefits retroactively.
Qualified Medicare Beneficiary. A person with an income equal to or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level and limited financial resources who receives some assistance with Medicare costs but is not on Medicaid.
