Search and destroy was a U.S. military tactic in South Vietnam, using small detachments to locate enemy units and then massive air, artillery, and ground forces to destroy them.
"Search and Destroy" is a song originally recorded by Iggy and The Stooges in 1973 and re-recorded in 2005. The song appears on the band's third studio album, Raw Power. Lead singer Iggy Pop said that he pulled the title "from a column heading in a Time Magazine article about the Vietnamese war."
