THX has now become known as THX Ultra to differentiate it from a new product category called THX Select. THX Ultra is identical to the original Home THX specifications. Components carrying THX Ultra have met the requirements developed in order to assure the accurate reproduction of movie soundtracks.
A certification program for home theater equipment, designed to provide a base level of quality for rooms that are more than 3,000 cubic feet in size.
