Budgie is Budgie's first album. It was released in June 1971 through MCA Records. The album was released in the US on Kapp Records with the bonus track "Crash Course in Brain Surgery" (originally released as a single), which had been covered by Metallica on their 1987 EP Garage Days Re-Revisited.
Peter Edward Clarke, (born August 21 1957, in St Helens, Lancashire), better known as Budgie, is an English drummer. He began his career with the New Wave band Big in Japan and also the Spitfire Boys before briefly playing with The Slits, recording the album Cut. Budgie then joined Siouxsie & the Banshees, the band with whom he would gain most notoriety, in 1979.
