in chemistry means expressing the relationship between an acid and a base by the difference of a proton or of or having to do with a ring of carbon atoms linked by alternate single and double bonds, or a compound joined with another or others.
A conjugated pi system is one in which pi bonds alternate with single bonds. The resulting electron distribution gives the intervening single bonds partial double-bond character, the pi electrons become delocalized, and the energy of the system is reduced.
