A method of calculating system uniformity and is measured as a percentage which indicates how closely the driest area compares to the average precipitation rate of the irrigated area.
the evenness of water application to plants throughout a field. It is defined as the average of the lowest 25% of water applied to plants in a field divided by the average water applied to plants for the whole field. The highest possible value is 100%.
The measure of the uniformity of irrigation water over an area. The measure of how uniform the water is made available to the plants over an area. DU is expressed as a percentage and generally represents the major component of irrigation efficiency. A DU of 1.0 (100% uniformity) represents all of the area will receive the same amount of water.
