Ernie is a fictional character, a Muppet on PBS' long-running children's television show, Sesame Street. He and Bert form a comic duo that is one of the program's centerpieces, with Ernie acting the role of the naïve trouble-maker and Bert the world-weary foil.

Ernie was a cartoon published in the British comic book Eagle, from the first issue (dated March 27 1982) and appearing in most issues thereafter. He was drawn by Dave Follows.

Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West) was an innuendo-laden comic song written and performed by Benny Hill.
