a simple metal spacer that you mount between the lens and the camera body
a simple metal spacer, which fits between the lens and the camera, and allows you to focus the lens closer than normal
a spacer placed between the lens and camera body
a tube that goes between the lens and the camera body - for SLRs
A straight section of tubing used to extend a drainage run.
A metal cylinder placed between the camera body and the lens. This device shortens the focusing distance to a few inches. Extension tubes are designated according to the reproduction ratio they afford (image/subject ratio). i.e.: 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1
A cylindrical threaded tube used to change the magnification, effective focal length and field of view of a lens when inserted between the lens and imaging sensor.
Kit consisting of various size spacers that are used between the lens and the camera to reduce the lens M.O.D. Generally used for very close-up applications. Not recommended for zoom lenses due to loss of tracking.
Spacers between the lens and the camera that allow the lens to focus at closer working distances.
A kit consisting of various size spacers that are used between the lens and the camera to reduce the lens minimum object distance. Extension tubes are not recommended for zoom lenses due to loss of tracking.
An extension tube is an accessory for cameras with interchangeable lenses, used primarily for macro photography. The tube contains no optical elements; its sole purpose is to move the lens farther from the film or digital sensor. The farther away the lens is, the closer the focus, the greater the magnification, and also the greater the loss of light (requiring a longer exposure time).
