Of or relating to hydrostatics; pertaining to, or in accordance with, the principles of the equilibrium of fluids.
equal in all directions as pressure under water.
A stress state in which all the stresses are equal and are principal stresses. Hydrostatic is the water pressure above a given elevation. When a body is under hydrostatic stress, there is no shear stress and the stresses on the body are equal in all directions.
relating to fluids at rest or to the pressures they exert or transmit; "hydrostatic pressure"
Pressure exerted by a column of water, see hydraulic gradient.
Relating to the pressure that liquids exert.
Pertaining to pressure by and within water due to gravitation acting through depth.
Hydrostatic relates to the pressure of fluids or to their properties.
A vertical balance between gravity and the vertical pressure gradient force. The atmosphere is considered to be in hydrostatic balance except in strong disturbances. i.e. thunderstorms.
