A match in which one player competes against the better score of two or more other players. It is not a fourball. Traditionally a team consists of two players. Each golfer plays his own ball, but only the lowest score from each team counts.
Descriptive of a match in which the best individual score of two or more partners is the score for a hole. Also, the score itself, as in, "Smith had the best ball with a birdie, while his partner shot par."
