Black Star is the self-titled debut by Black Star - the pairing of rappers Talib Kweli and Mos Def. It is sometimes listed as Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. The album was released on August 26 1998.

The Black Star (Drala Fi' in Minbari) was a Shargoti class warcruiser in the fictional science fiction universe of Babylon 5. Roughly 25% larger than the standard Sharlin Class Warcruiser, the Black Star served as the flag ship of the Minbari Federation fleet until its destruction in the year of 2245.

Black Star is an alternative hip hop group formed by MCs Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Affiliated with the group is DJ Hi-Tek, who formed producer/MC duo Reflection Eternal with Kweli for the album Train of Thought and produced a portion of Black Star's debut album.
