Usually refers to the public areas of the theatre but strictly includes everything in front of the proscenium. A front of house manager oversees staff servicing this area.
1) Every part of the theatre in front of the pros arch. Includes foyer areas open to the general public. 2) All lanterns which are on the audience side of the proscenium and are focussed towards the stage.
