Kuumaliima Varmlim Type of synthetic resin adhesive used in perfect binding, can be used alone (one-shot binding) or together with PVA (two-shot binding).
A term applicable to a number of adhesives used in perfect binding. Hot melt is applied when hot (300-400 degrees F.), but sets almost instantly when used on a cool surface. Once it has set, the adhesive is solid, although flexible, at room temperature. See also PEFECT BINDING
An adhesive used for binding.
A pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the backing in a hot molten form that cools to form a conventional pressure sensitive adhesive.
EVA adhesive. 100% solids adhesive requiring heat to rise the temperature of the adhesive to a workable viscosity.
Environmentally safe bonding technology using heat-activated adhesives.
Type of adhesive used on unsewn binding. See also Cold Melt.

An adhesive used in some binding processes, which requires heat for application.
An adhesive used in the binding process, which requires heat for application.
As a sealant it is material which will soften when heated (approx. 375°F) can be pumped when hot, gains strength when cooled.
A resinous thermoplastic compound adhesive that melts at relatively high temperatures (around 350°F). It is flexible and sets instantly when cooled.
An adhesive applied in a molten form that retains its pressure-sensitive characteristics once it has cooled.
