Philips Digital Compact Cassette, a medium of digital cassette designed to replace the familiar analogue cassette.
Digital Command Control. On the most basic level, DCC encompasses systems and products that are interoperable with the basic DCC industry norms and practices (the NMRA Standards and RPs are part of this). In addition, DCC includes other related technologies that are designed to enhance and extend the basic capabilities of DCC.

Dependent Care Connection
Acronym for Direct Client to Client connection. This is a direct connection between two computers during an IRC session that bypasses the server. This is useful when an IRC server is experiencing problems or you wish to send a file directly to another person. There are several types of DCC, including DCC Send (sending a file to another user) and DCC Chat (talking privately to another user.)
Direct Cable Connection. A direct connection between two I/O ports of two computers using a single cable or wireless link. DCC is one of connection types supported by Windows operating system. DCC can be implemented through serial port, parallel port and infrared port.
Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse. A system that tries to identify bulk mail, so that people can reject bulk mail from unknown sources. Bubblegum proxypot can submit messages to a DCC server, which provides DCC users with more raw information to help them decide what messages should be rejected.
Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse is a system of thousands of clients and more than 250 servers collecting and counting checksums related to more than 150 million mail messages on week days. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject or filter spam or unsolicited bulk mail.

Data country code. One of four addressing methods used by ATM devices. DCC, based on the NSAP format, identifies the location of ATM devices by country, using 2-byte ISO country codes.
Data Country Code. One of two formats from the ATM Forum for address usage. See ICD.
This specifies the country in which an address is registered. The codes are given in ISO 3166. The length of this field is two octets. The digits of the data country code are encoded in Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) syntax. The codes will be left justified and padded on the right with the hexadecimal value "F" to fill the two octets.
