Definitions for "Amprenavir"
A Protease Inhibitor (PI) for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Also called Agenerase.
Indications: Treatment of HIV infection in combination with other agents. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity. Dosage: 1200 mg po bid. There are many potential drug interactions, some of which require dosage modification; see Physicians Desk Reference or package insert for more information. Toxicity: Nausea, diarrhea, rash, headache, oral paresthesias. Pregnancy category C.
An FDA approved (04/15/99) protease inhibitor for use in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and children. Also called Agenerase.
