An undergraduate student enrolling for at least 12 or more semester credits during the fall and spring semester. Generally speaking, students who carry less than 12 semester credits per semester may not be covered under their parents' health insurance policy. Summer session students are considered full time with 6 or more semester credits.
A course load consisting of 9 or more credits.

A dependent enrolled at an accredited institution of learning. The student's principal residence, when not away at school, must be the same as their parents.
A student who in any half year enrols in units having a combined EFTSL of at least 0.375 (30 credit points).
Usually a full-time student enrols in units amounting to four credit points in each of two semesters in an academic year, however enrolment in three or more credit points in a semester is deemed to be full-time study and meets the requirements of Youth Allowance or Austudy
Student who is enrolled in units which total 75 per cent or more of a semester unit load.
