A transient student is one who is taking classes at APSU but is seeking a degree through some other college or university. Transient students may be admitted to the University for one semester/term. These students must indicate their intent to be transient students on their application for admission, be currently enrolled at another college or university, and have their home college forward to the APSU Office of Admissions a letter of good standing or an official transcript. Transient students remaining at Austin Peay will need to re-apply for admission and resubmit a letter of good standing or an official transcript for a subsequent semester/term.

an undergraduate student who enrolls at UNT for one long semester only (fall or spring)
an undergraduate student who has been enrolled at another college or university and who plans to attend UNT for one long semester only and then to return to the college or university where previously enrolled
a student currently enrolled in another college or university who wishes to take courses at Xavier for the purpose of transferring the credits earned to that college or university
a student who is attending another institution, and will attend GSU and transfer his/her courses back to his/her home institution
a student who is enrolled at one technical college, requesting to take a course(s) at another technical college
A student who has been approved to take college credit courses at another college institution and apply those credits towards a degree they are pursuing at Hagerstown Community College. Students must acquire and submit signatures from the Dean of Student Services, an Academic advisor, Assistant Director of Enrollment Services and the Department Chair/Program Coordinator on an Authorization for Attendance at Another Institution or Transient Form.
One who attends a few classes at one educational institution to complete degree requirements at another institution. A transient student letter from the host institution must accompany the student at the time of registration.
