Generates pulses of voltageto start a lamp
An electronic device providing a high voltage pulse to initiate an electrical discharge. Typically, the ignitor is paired with or is a part of the ballast.
A device, either by itself or in association with other components, that generates voltage pulses to start discharge lamps without preheating of electrodes.
A component of the ballast necessary for the starting of the bulb in sodium systems.
One of the components in HID control gear. The Ignitor's function is to start (ignite) the lamp. In most cases, they must be located within 1m of the lamp otherwise a 'Long Distance Ignitor' is required.
