Definitions for "Inetd"
The Internet server that allows one daemon to invoke many servers, thus reducing load on the system. Normally started at system boot time, only one inetd can run at any given time.
Internet Superserver. When a Telnet connection comes into an HP 3000, inetd starts the telnet server.
Internet Daemon. Service used to launch appropriate daemon, when Internet protocol is requested.
