The proportion of trips made on the roadway versus other modes of travel such as the public transit system.

The modal split indicates the proportional allocation of the means of transport use. The so-called incomplete model split is limited to motorized traffic and differentiated thereby only between public traffic and motorized individual traffic. The complete modal split enclosure however all means of transport uses, i.e. inclusive pedestrians and cyclists.
