Definitions for "RECONSIDER"
To consider again; as, to reconsider a subject.
To take up for renewed consideration, as a motion or a vote which has been previously acted upon.
Senate rules permit one motion to reconsider any question decided by vote, if offered by a Senator who voted on the winning side. Normally a supporter of the outcome immediately moves to reconsider the vote, and the same Senator or another immediately moves to table this motion, thus securing the outcome of the vote.
To seek a justification for a decision already made.
consider again; give new consideration to; usually with a view to changing; "Won't you reconsider your decision?"
