Digital cameras require time to process and store image data after capturing the image. The recycle time (or recycling time) indicates how quickly the camera can be ready to take another image. Most cameras offer a burst mode that allows a few images to be captured quickly, in effect saving the processing until there is no more room for temporary storage.
