Definitions for "Camlock"
Single pole connector used on professional power distribution systems. A separate connector is used for each phase/neutral of the supply.
high power connector (hundreds of amp s). One connector is required per conductor to be connected, thus a 3 phase supply requires five (earth, neutral, phase 1, phase 2, phase 3). Camlocks prese nt an arguably greater risk of accident than other types of power connector, and it is important to connect them in the correct order (the same order as listed above). Newer types shroud the tips of the pins, reducing the risk of accidental contact during connector mating.
