Definitions for "Faraday Shield"
(MRI) A metal mesh or sheet which blocks electric fields. Faraday shields are used in most MRI rooms to prevent unwanted radio waves from entering the room and affecting the image. Also prevents RF radio waves from leaving the room and interfering with other equipment.
An electrostatic shield between the input and output windings of a transformer, designed to reduce output common mode noise.
(Faraday Cage) - an electrically conductive screen or shield that reduces or eliminates interference between outside radio waves and those from the MRI unit.
