A receipt for goods with the indication that they were received damaged or short in quantity.
A bill of lading which has been qualified by the carrier to show that the goods were not sound when loaded. Usually termed a "dirty" bill of lading.
A bill of lading issued with notations on it which limit the carrier's liability; for example, a notation that the goods were received damaged, or short, or improperly packaged.
