High volume. low pressure. Describes a paint gun that uses a high volume and low pressure of atomizing air to apply material to a surface. This provides higher transfer efficiency and lower overspray.
High Volume Low Pressure spray equipment uses the concept of increasing the volume of air under reduced pressure to atomise the finish. The advantage of HVLP is the reduction of overspray which produces less air pollution and maximizes the finish material.
In spray painting applications, spray equipment which delivers material at a low pressure of no more than 10 PSI (at the air cap), however, with greater volume of air. ( 558)
(High Volume Low Pressure). An HVLP spray unit consists of a turbine motor that produces warm, low-pressure air. Its high transfer efficiency increases the square foot coverage.
HIGH VOLUME LOW PRESSURE. Spray equipment which delivers material at a low pressure of no more than 10 PSI (at the air cap), however, with greater volume of air.
High Volume Low Pressure - Type of spraying system that uses a high volume of low-pressure air to atomize and apply material to a surface. Reduces over spray of product into the atmosphere. Basically, the less air pressure, the more paint that comes out.
