Definitions for "Leaf area index"
The area of leaves exposed over a unit area of land surface.
The sum of the leaf area of all green leaves divided by the ground area above which the leaves were growing.
The area of leaf surface (usually upper or lower surface only) divided by the crown (q.v.) area projected on a horizontal surface.
