In Greek mythology, a nymph, follower of Artemis. Zeus wanted to woo her, and so disguised himself as Artemis and seduced her. To hide her from his jealous wife Hera, Zeus changed Callisto into a bear.
Jupiter's second largest moon. It is composed of about 40% ice and 60% rock. It was discovered by Galileo in 1610.
A virgin follower of Artemis, raped by Zeus and turned into a bear. In one version of her myth, she was nearly shot by her son Arcas but was rescued by Zeus, who transformed her into the Great Bear constellation.
